Japan Day

In August 2016 the Glaskoning Twins from Oosterhout, for one day named the “Samurai Twins”, hosted a well organized Japan promotion day to support the baseball team.

The event, called “Japan Day @ Twins Oosterhout”, was to prove the power to unite people and business around baseball. The first pitch of the game was thrown by the Japanese ambassador Mr. Hiroshi Inomata, also a baseball fan. Japanese, Dutch and Belgian fans enjoyed Japanese food and drinks, but also experienced a great lottery with more than 100 prizes. There were all sorts of baseball memorabilia to win, like autographed baseballs from Rick van den Hurk, bobble heads, game jerseys, championship rings, hats and Calbee baseball cards. The grand prize was two airline tickets to Sendai (Japan) donated by All Nippon Airlines (ANA) to promote their daily and direct flight from Brussels to Tokyo. The winners also received 2 tickets from The Rakuten Eagles, a professional baseball team from the Nippon Professional Baseball organization (NPB), to visit their home game, including a guided tour in their beautiful stadium in Sendai.

All in all it was a great day, never to forget in the history of our baseball club the Glaskoning Twins. But, that was 2016. Again, the Glaskoning Twins are very proud to announce …
